Since joining BNI in February 2017, one of the aspects that I look forward to each week is my weekly 1-2-1 meeting. It’s a great way to learn about the products and services my fellow members offer and it’s an ideal way to help them get more referrals and connected to the people that can help grow their business.
As the resident photographer of the Folkestone chapter, I saw an opportunity in these 1-2-1 meetings to highlight the businesses of my colleagues, while also showing how my own photography business can be an invaluable tool to those colleagues and similar businesses. This past week, I had the opportunity to learn a bit about Wendy Flanagan and her burgeoning business The Holistic Home.
The Holistic Home offers a range of organic, natural, wellbeing & beauty therapies for men and women that can help improve our lifestyle, health and wellbeing. While the therapies that Wendy practice can assist in managing many different conditions, Wendy emphasizes that it’s important to maintain a dialogue with your GP to inform them of any therapies undertaken, as these therapies are not to be seen as a substitute for advice from your GP.
Our weekly 1-2-1 meetings are such a great way to get to know one another and as such, I feel like I really came away from this week’s meeting knowing Wendy’s business. It was easy to see that Wendy isn’t just offering a service, but she’s also sharing her positive energy and serene manner as well. It’s easy to see that The Holistic Home is a lifestyle for Wendy and that she practices what she preaches. And I’m not afraid to say that I’m looking forward to taking her up on a bit of Man-Pampering for myself.
Kevan Smith I’m a commercial photographer, based in Kent and I specialise in creating dynamic, eye-catching images for my clients.
My images are created to add value to every message conveyed across the spectrum of digital and offline platforms alike, including websites, brochures, blogs, social media channels, case studies and any other medium as required.
My clients range from BAFTA award winners, multi-national building firms, television personalities and heads of state to local businesses, respected artists and ambitious entrepreneurs.
I was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas (U.S.A.), and after a stint as a lab technician followed by time out to travel, I began a career as a production rigger, working primarily in television and film. This experience allowed me to become accustomed to pressurised working environments and a demanding clientele!
In 2011, I began studying at the London Film Academy, which eventually led to me devoting my time and training to becoming a commercial photographer.
